Well, here I am, should have done this sooner. I could help myself blogging about culture shock and save money on therapy and meds! LOL.. I love it here, really. Just a sissy who can't handle change. I am a relative newcomer to Southern CA, and after 5 years I'm finally realizing how to settle in and relax. That's what growing up in Northern Virginia can do to a person. We thought we were pretty mellow part time country people, but man were we wrong. Back home is like NYC compared to the oober laid back-ness of the 951. That's code for Riverside county, BTW. Flip flops are something you don't just wear, you make a statement of where you are from (san diego maybe) or going, Macys or the beach or maybe a walk to the park. It's all about the pedicure for sure. Seems since the economy crashed, having the right flip flops may not be a bad distraction... Affordable and cute.

Oh, the tales I can tell about our 5 years here. Robbed 3 times, watched countless fires, driven hundreds, no thousands of miles I think looking for a nice place to spend the afternoon picnicking. I'd better learn to make friends with dirt and wide open skies! No, it has it's own beauty here, and Temecula has grown up a little. It's trying to grow, but for some reason these things take a log time here. Seems noone is in a rush, they are all at the beach:) If anyone is interested, I can amuse you with east coast vs. west coast culture "observations". It's all fun, but you'd be shocked how one country can be so diversified in each area!
